Moving and Shaking!!!! Oh Man.......

This has been a very eventful week at the Gomez house. Zuri has been able to scoot around pretty well (she has been working on this skill for a few weeks now) it keeps me BUSY!!!

But this week the little stinker thinks she needs to be BIG and get into everything.
She can now go from sitting to scooting. This was a big step we used to be able to sit her down and she would just stay where we put her. Eldon would say it was like she was on her own little island and she couldn't go anywhere!! NO LONGER, this little girl goes everywhere and fast.

She has this toy hammer, oh man watch out, she takes it with her everywhere!!

She is our little THOR baby!!

Another first for this week, pulling herself up!!! Good Crap where has my baby gone?
She hasn't perfected this skill yet, but oh man is she working on it.
To aid in helping with less injury as she learns this skill and others she is working on like walking the length of the couch I laid some carpet down.

This is Village living at it's best!!
I had the carpet from 240 and a rug that put together has covered our basement (we spend most of our time here) I wanted a little buffer from the hard wood floor and her head.
As you can see it is BEAUTIFUL!! lol

She can pull herself up, but poor little midgy is too short to reach all the toys in the bottom of the box!!
But isn't she so stinking cute trying to get them?

I have been trying to follow through with some of my Pinterest projects this week. I have made cake stands, and fruit holders. So when El came to me with a sliver in his foot, I thought oh man I pinned something about this. I got online and checked it out. I made a paste of baking soda and water and put it on his foot. Then I waited.........
While I was waiting for the sliver to pop out I remembered that if you wash your face with baking soda and water it is supposed to get rid of black heads. So while I was at it, and my poor hubby was laying on the couch I pounced!!! ha ha  I think I am a puma.

Needless to say it didn't work on the foot or the face. but I had fun slathering his face with paste :)

I did have a few successes from the Pinterest today. For our family party I brought dessert and a side dish. I made Cherry White Chocolate Pudding Cookies, Double Chocolate Coca Cola Cake, and a BLT pasta salad. I would make them all again, they were tasty.

The next couple of weeks are packed and I am so excited for them. This Saturday one of my best friends is being sealed to the 5 children she just adopted last week. A week from today Dad goes in for a heart procedure, Two days after that my sweet cousin is getting married, And the next day is our 6 year anniversary and we head out for Oregon!! I am SO excited.

Lots of goodness is coming. I will try and remember to take some good pictures :)

8 Months & our almost swim

As you all read before I want to go swimming with my little girl this summer.
Well working on making the most of our summer we wanted to get started.

We were dressed and ready to go, got to the pool, had time to set our stuff down
we walked into the pool, we were knee high

and boom, the whistles blew.........Lightning in the distance!!!

Double Dang!!!

But look how cute they were ready to play.

We were lucky and got tickets to go back since we weren't able to swim that day.

Mark my words we will try again!!

Moving on, My sweet Zuri Mae is 8 months old today!!

It is so crazy to think that in just 4 short months I will have a one year old.
She is so amazing, she eats everything!! Just the other day she sat and ate 8 cherries, and a full apricot. for one little girl I am amazed at how much she can eat, BUT she LOVES food.
We have not found a food that she will not gobble up.

She also in the last couple weeks has started to move. She is not yet into a full crawl, but man does she move fast in her army/mowgally crawl. She has already gotten into the dog food, and dog water, she loved splashing around. LOL

It is hard to keep her clothes clean, she is always scooting around. Or walking with assistance.
She has always been an independent girl.

She Loves the dogs, and loves music. Her laugh is the cutest thing in the world. I am so lucky to have this amazing Daughter of God in my life.

Here are a couple pictures of my pint sized woman.

As you can see by my drink cup, she isn't very big.

she is almost 14 pounds.
At her last appt. she was 4% in weight, and 9% in height.
Built like her Midgy Daddy!!

I LOVE IT

Finally Summer!!

Summer 2013!!

It is finally here, I have been waiting, and waiting, and waiting.....
this winter was a little rough on me, it was cold, and there were not many days where you could actually see the sun :( and I had the baby blues.)

I just was waiting for summer time, you just can't help but smile when the sun is out and shinning down warming your soul.
I have a few goals for the summer that I am going to post here and hopefully this will help me have a little accountability.
They are not in any special order.

  • I want to take Z swimming at least 5 times. I want her to have a love for the water.
  • I want to go to the temple with Eldon often, for a while we were going weekly, then life happened and I miss it deeply.
  • I want to get our grass back, and hopefully find a love for gardening.
  • I want to spend as much time outside as possible.
  • I want to loose some weight and be healthier.
I know these are odd desires, but they are mine and I hope to accomplish them.
I will try and keep you posted.

I would love to hear about all your summer plans, and maybe steal a few :)

Happy Independence Day!!

WOW did we have a jam packed day-o-fun!!

To start things off Mom and Me hung out with Daddy as he was doing his WOD (work out of the day) in the garage. Man my daddy is SOOO strong. He did 120 squats, pull-ups and shoulder presses. He is way into cross fit. Man does he love to work out.

After spending the morning with just my mom and dad we got ready and went to the Magna Parade!! It was my first one ever.
It was so fun, but man was it HOTT!! Mom made sure to bring me plenty of ice water and snacks. Here are a few pictures.

Here I am sitting with my aunt Marnee, I had a new outfit just for today!

There were tractors, and BIG army trucks, and horses

My cousin Tyler was in the parade with this football team.

I didn't pay much attention, I mostly watched the crazy people.
And the Sheriff gave me a cool sticker!!

Dad might take too many pictures of me, but that is okay I like to try and grab the camera.

After the parade we went over to Granny and Papa's house for a party, I love hanging out with all 12 of my cousin's, they all love making me smile.
For dessert since we were at granny's house and she has all the fun carnival stuff I got to eat cotton candy for the first time.

Mom shared with me, but I just wanted to eat the whole thing IT. WAS. SO. GOOD!!

Then I got to try a snow cone, mmm it was so cold and yummy. It was a lime ricky, and it made my whole mouth purple.

After that it was time for the fireworks, but man I had such a fun filled day I was tired. I loved seeing all the bright colors and hear the noises, it was so great, but half way though I just couldn't keep my eyes open any more.

I had such a fun holiday. I am so thankful that my Papa, and my great grandpa served in the Army, and fought for people to be free. There are great men and women in our country that sacrifice a lot so that I can be safe. Man are they great!!

Thanks for stopping by and checking out my sweet little life!!

LOVE- Zuri
