Bring the pain

Well I am six weeks into motherhood, so far it has been more than I ever expected it to be.
I have loved every minute of it, the cuddling, feedings, the sweet smiles, and even diaper changes.
Then a couple days ago it started........

The most horrible pain!!
I was expecting the pain of labor and delivery, and the pain of recovering from pushing a human out of my body.
No one ever prepared me for the pain of MASTITIS!!

It is like fiery swords
being sucked out of my boob every time I feed my sweet girl.
Which is all the day, it sometimes feels.

I now have an antibiotic to get rid of it, and my hot pad is my favorite thing right now.

To all women lactating or not watch out it can get ya, and it's a .......
There are no words bad enough!!

And then there were THREE

I have been wanting to post for such a long time, SO much has happened since last March. We did nothing in the backyard like I had planned. Thankfully the Lord had other plans for the Gomez family. As most of you know our sweet family of two has now become three. Zuri Mae Gomez was born Nov. 15, 2012 6lbs 7oz 19 inches tall. She is perfect in every way, and such a fighter. It is very strange to go through a whole pregnancy, when for the last Four and a half years I  have not liked anything to do with babies, because I knew I had issues and was almost positive I would never be able to get pregnant. (there will be more on that later if anyone is interested)

This has been the most amazing and scary year of my life. I am forever thankful for Eldon and his faith, without it things would be extremely different. Zuri is such a fighter, all I can say is the Lord watched over us and she was seriously ment to be here. She had a lot stacked against her.

My little girl is 6 weeks old today, I can't even believe she has been with us for so long. She is such a good baby, she is a great sleeper through the night, and an amazing eater, and such a great pooper. We have already servived our first cold. I can not believe such BIG man boogers could come out of something so small.

She went to church for the first time, met Santa and went out to meet Great Grandma Bowen. We had our first Christmas together! It was awesome full of Family.
It has been such an amazing journey so far, full of miricales, blessings, hard scary things, and more joy than I could ever imagine. We are so excited for everything to come.
